Pet Therapy at Hart Heritage Assisted Living
Through our partnership with Pets on Wheels, Hart Heritage Assisted Living provides pet therapy and pet companionship for our residents several times a month. Many of our residents had to find new homes for their pets when they moved to assisted living, so being able to interact with the Pets on Wheels therapy animals is a treat they look forward to.
Even our residents who never had pets of their own get a lot out of these visits from our four-legged friends. These animals provide unconditional love, and can brighten anyone’s day. Moreover, studies show a visit from a therapy dog can lower anxiety, blood pressure and have a general calming effect on anyone they come in contact with.
Therapy dogs (and cats) come in all shapes and sizes, and are trained to tolerate and welcome contact with strange people, and have calm and patient temperaments.
If you’re considering moving into assisted living, or finding an assisted living community for a loved one, we invite you to tour both of our Hart Heritage Assisted Living facilities, in Street and Forest Hill. Call us today at 410-638-6047 with questions and to schedule a visit. We are family owned and operated, and we treat your family like our family.
